I urge the ICRP to adopt and incorporate the precutionary principle across all of its documents. It is your responsibility to help insure the safety of all individuals who could potentially be affected by nuclear radiation-this includes all of us on this planet. More specifically, I have lived close to 2 nuclear plants and would not be able to sleep at night if I knew that any risks regarding my exposure to radiation were being taken without my informed consent-which no competent individual would give, needless to say. Secondly, I urge the ICRP to delete all discussion and recommendations for exemtions and exemption levels, and should delete section 2.4 and any tables supporting exemptions. It has already been determined by ethical scientists that any exposure to radiation, regardless of how small the dose, is harmful-the ICRP cannot and should not in good conscience exempt any type of radioactive waste from regulation.
